So I started to grab a few modules, a few rack synths even if I hadn’t enough money for the real old school synth. I bought a few, a Waldorf Blofeld, a Waldorf MicroQ and a Dave Smith Mopho… I don’t know why I bought these particular synths, I was reading during the night online forums about them but I was buying them blindly!
Then, I wanted something to control them in real life, so I bought a midi controller keyboard… and then I wanted to do the most impressive thing.. Connect all of them to pilot them all together! So I bought a module to connect via MIDI all of them!
My Frankenstein was alive! It was fantastic – but still doing random things!
Even if you haven’t heard about these things, you can imagine how my parents were happy about me spending money on these “musical investments”… They were asking me what I will do in the future with those things but I was super proud of my keyboard lab that I bought (but still I was doing nothing, just posting photos on Facebook).
The ending of this story is even funnier but…can you realize how, without the right knowledge, you can spend a lot of time and money without even being able to know how to use them?
